چکیده

The entomopathogen Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill. (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) can colonize plants endophytically and stimulate the production of secondary plant metabolites with anti-herbivore activities. We assayed topical virulence B. to Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae), effects cucumber inoculation this fungus on metabolites, physiological consequences for aphids that fed these plants. Assays were conducted both commercial formulation bassiana, 'Naturalis®-L', at recommended concentration 1.5 ml / L (yielding a spore 2.3 × 107 CFU per ml), similar isolated fungal strain. Topical application 0.03 solution cm2, or 1 103 CFU, caused 100% mortality A. adults after seven days, whether Naturalis®-L isolate alone was used. grew into foliage when sprayed cucumbers 2-leaf stage concentrations alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, hydrogen peroxide, total chlorophyll higher than in control 28 days inoculation. Malondialdehyde content, growth, yield unaffected by Aphids bassiana-inoculated 24 h had reduced activities detoxifying enzymes (glutathione-S-transferase, carboxylesterase, acetylcholinesterase) compared controls. Activities digestive enzymes, (lipase, α-amylase, α-glucosidase, aminopeptidase) from inoculated plants, which exhibited superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase, phenoloxidase, but lower catalase activity. Energy reserves (lipids, protein, glycogen) they fecundity, longevity, reproductive periods, 50% reduction LC50 pirimicarb. Thus, addition causing direct pathogenicity, negatively impacted physiology performance could usefully complement other strategies managing cotton greenhouse cucumber.

Identification of Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae) Biotypes from Different Host Plants in North China.

BACKGROUND The cotton-melon aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is a polyphagous species with a worldwide distribution and a variety of biotypes. North China is a traditional agricultural area with abundant winter and summer hosts of A. gossypii. While the life cycles of A. gossypii on different plants have been well studied, those of the biotypes of North China are still uncle...

Bottom-up Effect of Two Host Plants on Life Table Parameters of Aphis gossypii (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

Aphis gossypii Glover is one of the most important pests of greenhouse cucumber and pepper in the world and Iran. In this research, life table and biology of A. gossypii were investigated on cucumber (Cucumis sativus cv. Super Sultan) and pepper (Capsicum annum cv. Marqueza) in a growth chamber at 25±1°C and 60±5% RH and a photoperiod of 14 L: 10 D hour. The results showed that developmental ti...

lethal and sublethal effects of imidacloprid and pirimicarb on the melon aphid, aphis gossypii glover (hemiptera: aphididae) under laboratory conditions

the toxicity of imidacloprid and pirimicarb for all stages of the melon aphid, aphis gossypii glover, were investigated under laboratory conditions (25 ± 1 oc, 65 ± 5% r.h. and a photoperiod of 16:8 (l: d) h.) using a leaf dipping method. these pesticides were very toxic for first instar nymphs of a. gossypii with lc50 values of 17 and 220.2 ppm for imidacloprid and pirimicarb, respectively. fo...

Quantification of the Pirimicarb Resistance Allele Frequency in Pooled Cotton Aphid (Aphis gossypii Glover) Samples by TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assay

BACKGROUND Pesticide resistance monitoring is a crucial part to achieving sustainable integrated pest management (IPM) in agricultural production systems. Monitoring of resistance in arthropod populations is initially performed by bioassay, a method that detects a phenotypic response to pesticides. Molecular diagnostic assays, offering speed and cost improvements, can be developed when the caus...
